Walter Morgan
Technical Producer

Walter MorganWalter Morgan is in charge of all technical aspects of Latino USA. Morgan also serves as executive technical producer for KUT Radio at the University of Texas at Austin and is also a program producer in his own right.

At KUT Radio, Morgan has assisted in the production of such nationally distributed vehicles as Horizons, Texas Bound, Latin American Review, Accordion Kings, Fresh Air, Texas Country Roots, Accordions According to Texas, All Things Considered and Morning Edition.

In his capacity as producer at KUT Radio, Morgan is responsible for two live-performance music programs that are broadcast locally over KUT Radio: LiveSet and Live at the Cactus.

In 1990 he received the Austin Music and Media Award from the Texas Music Association.

In addition to his efforts with Latino USA and KUT Radio, Morgan also works as an independent recording engineer and producer. His album credits include Tish Hinojosa´ s Aquella Noche (Watermelon Records), Jimmy LaFave´ s Austin Skyline (Bohemia Beat Records), and Christine Lavin´ s What Was I Thinking? Live at the Cactus Cafe (Philo-Rounder Records Group). He has also produced three compact discs for KUT Radio from the program LiveSet.

In 1991, the Industry Insiders Poll conducted by Music City Texas named Morgan the Best Producer in Austin.

Morgan attended Lamar University in Beaumont as an applied music major, and received his Bachelor´s of Science in Radio-Television-Film from the University of Texas at Austin in 1977.
