CALIFORNIA LATINO VOTE For the candidates of both parties, a win captures the state with the most delegates up for grabs on Super Tuesday. For the Democrats, many analysts say the key to victory is the Latino vote. One out of every five registered voters is Latino, and according to a latest poll, Senator Clinton holds a commanding lead. From San Francisco, Latino USA's Nancy Mullane reports. NEW YORK DOMINICAN VOTERS On the East Coast, Democrats are counting heavily on their strong base of minority and liberal white voters, especially in New York City. Latino support can be unpredictable, with turnout traditionally lower among blacks and whites. But this Super Tuesday, more Latino women are expected to pull the lever in the New York primaries. Latino USA's Carole King visited Dominican neighborhoods in the South Bronx and Manhattan to find out how Dominicanas and their families are thinking about the vote. MICHEL CAMILO Latino USA's Maria Hinojosa speaks with musician Michel Camilo about his newest album, Spirit of the Moment. |
