CALIFORNIA AGRICULTURAL WORKERS Latino USA contributor Nancy Mullane reports from Lindsay, California on how recent winter storms affected California crop workers. Citrus growers in California's Central Valley were hit with an estimated $800 million loss in oranges and lemons. Thousands of growers are filing insurance claims hoping to get some relief to help them through the worst crop loss in more than eight years. But for workers who depend on the seasonal picking and packaging of the crops, the devastation is much closer to home.
