Eduardo Gonzalez’s favorite stretch of woods is the winding road of pines and majestic sequoias at the Calaveras Big Trees State Park in California. Eduardo fell in love with the outdoors when he was a kid, traveling every summer to his family’s farm in Jalisco, Mexico, and going camping at the Yosemite Valley. It’s his first time as hike leader for Latino Outdoors, a network of teachers, environmental educators and outdoor enthusiasts that’s trying to get Latinos of all backgrounds to connect — or reconnect — with nature. His love for the outdoors is something he wants to devote his life to sharing. Reporter Angela Bass follows him as he heads out with a group of Latinos — half of them, his own family — to the Calaveras Big Trees State Park.
