Dawn Maestas is now in her forties, but she spent a big chunk of her life enduring emotional and physical abuse from her partner. When Dawn finally broke free, she decided to study aesthetics and skin care to get her life back together. And since then, she’s been helping other women who have survived domestic abuse, by removing the tattoos their abusive partners left on their skin as a form of branding. Reporter Megan Kamerick brings us this story from Albuquerque, New Mexico.

What a gift to those who long ago wished to have tatoos removed reminding them of a partner who used violence and failed to respect them. Good work!
Dawn’s work is extremely safe and efficacious. I would encourage anyone to use her service.
