Tonight at the Democratic Debate in Milwaukee, Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders had a seven-minute exchange over immigration, the Central American migrant crisis and the recent news of increased deportations by the Obama administration. It was perhaps the best exchange the two candidates had about these topics so far in this election cycle, and it showed clear differences between both Clinton and Sanders.
The issue is that each of these presidential candidates can say whatever they want now, but will they hold true to their every word? These campaigns end up being a popularity contest and those who have the richest friends get ahead fast. Lie to me, deceive me, it’s okay; at the end of the day I’m picking who ever makes me feel pretty, an equal, and wanted. Oh and voting for whoever gives me the illusion that they are understanding of consent!
I like Bernie but his record on immigration is not one of his best moments. At some point you have to make your own decisions and not rely on labor unions et al. But he’s smart and he’ll learn. Hillary will tell you what you want to hear. And how exactly did she think those Central American kids were treated once they made it here? She should be ashamed.
He’s too old…watch he leans on the podium… she doesn’t. He looks tired. He does not have experience on the big stage as far as the citizens are concerned.
When you listen to the whole exchange on immigration, it is crystal clear that Bernie is by far the better candidate. Even within her own statements, she tries to sit on both side of the fence. She opposes family detention, etc. but she wants to “send a message” to families in Latin America not to send their kids on a perilous journey? Seriously? Does she think this is a decision families take lightly? How would the families feel if they heard her say this like it was a lark.
The Obama administration has defended all of its appalling policies aimed at kids and families by saying we need to “send a message” and she says she defends that effort and supports it. At the same time she says she opposes “family detention” etc. Does she not understand that family detention, rapid deportations, etc. that she says she opposes were in fact the “strong message” that Obama was trying to send? One one hand she says she opposes the policies and on the other hand she supports them? She can’t oppose his policies and support them at the same time.
I wonder what she would say if she went to one of the gang controlled areas of Guatemala or Honduras and tried to convince a mother not to risk “sending” her child north. I am sure the response would be it is better for them to risk possible death on the journey, than to face certain death by staying here. Does she really think that these families don’t understand the risk? They don’t need a “message” from HRC and Obama, they need a rational policy that would treat these folks as the refugees that they are and not arrest them at school bus stops.

Madame President Of the United States!! YES!
Hillary Clinton is dangerous. Her role in destablizing Honduras should not be ignored.

What are the differences…I watch the debate? Did i miss something?
Hillary’s naive thinking that winning presidential elections will change the attitude of republicans. Obama campaigned in 2012 saying that his victory would break the fever of obstruction, it didn’t happen. Bernie is aiming high so he can get decent bargains, if they were to happen; Hillary aims low so she will intentionally fall short of progressive and liberal ideals.
Good morning…No way ? Can or will Senator Sanders compete on poor people donations… to so many adds and commercial posters, traveling. managers, advisers, writers, transportation, housing, food, ???
Where is his money coming from? Really? From the poor you say, he say, she say,, who are being strapped down with minimum slave wages??? REALLY?
What about her support from the private prison industry which is happy to detain immigrants because they’re the latest prison cash cow?
