In case you were not online yesterday afternoon, cast members from the Broadway hit show “Hamilton” made an appearance at the White House and performed the song “Alexander Hamilton” for President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama and guests, including several students from the D.C. area. In 2009, show creator Lin-Manuel Miranda had introduced an earlier version of the same song during at a White House Poetry Jam:

The White House’s Facebook page also posted a video with Miranda and President Obama in the Rose Garden, where Miranda freestyled lyrics with words provided by the President. As of this morning, that video has gotten more than seven million views:
