A new comic book hero is rallying people for social justice causes. She is a symbol of hope, unity and action. And she is making her debut at New York City’s 2016 National Puerto Rican Day Parade. Named after the Puerto Rican national anthem, La Borinqueña’s creator, Edgardo Miranda-Rodriguez, hopes his Afro-Boricua superhero will resonate with everyday people and raise awareness about issues facing the island today.
