If you were born in Mexico but spent most of your life the United States, who are you? Well of course, you could say you’re Mexican-American. But does that mean you can pass effortlessly from one culture to the other?

Yovany Diaz, 25, lives with these questions every day. He grew up in Georgia but recently moved back to Mexico City with his mom when she was having health problems. He left his two U.S. citizen brothers back in Atlanta and met relatives in Mexico for the first time. And coming back “home,” to say the least, was confusing.
