Pianist and composer Irving Fields passed away this August at the age of 101. He was born to a Jewish family in Brooklyn in 1915. When he traveled to Cuba as a young man, he fell in love with Latin music, and became one of the foremost interpreters of American-style rumba in the early 20th century. In April of 2014, Fields talked to Latino USA and shared with us his life story and lessons on longevity.
