From February 9–16, New York City is flooded by chic fashionistas. It’s an exclusive scene of who’s who in fashion, and our very own Maria Hinojosa went behind the scenes at Mondo Guerra’s highly anticipated fashion show.

The designer shot to stardom after being a finalist on season 8 of Project Runway, and winning season 1 of Project Runway: All Stars. In this Latino USA video, Maria follows Mondo backstage as he readies his models, watches his bold fashions strut the runway and catches up with him after the show.

Last month, Mondo sat down with Maria to talk about his strength to speak up and live his truth.
