When it comes to immigration, there are lots of opinions—but then, there’s science. The podcast Science Vs from Gimlet Media takes issues that generate a gut reaction and then they strip all emotion from them to look at what the research shows.

Recently, Science Vs decided to look at immigration. They specifically wanted to know: are immigrants taking American jobs? Are they driving down wages? Are they taking more than they give back when it comes to government resources? Are they driving up the crime rate?

The show’s host, Wendy Zukerman, went through the studies and found out that the picture of immigration painted by research is far more nuanced that what we usually hear.
