Nathy Peluso is not afraid of going against the grain. The Argentinean-born singer, rapper and poet started her career writing poetry on demand on the streets of Madrid. She moved to Spain as a young girl with her family and quickly found she had something to communicate. And in the beginning that was through her poetry. The rhythm of the language quickly gave way to rap as she began thinking more melodically.
Before fully committing to music, she was studying to become a theatre teacher – convinced that some way or another she had something to give. But the world had other plans for Nathy, as she fully immersed herself into music and dropped her debut album in 2020. ‘Calambre’ combined smooth R&B, hip hop with latin alternative vibes, and people paid attention. She won Best Alternative Music album at the 2021 Latin Grammys.
From there she has collaborated with major heavy hitters across the industry from c-tangana, Ca7riel y Paco Amoroso, Karol-G and Bizzarap. Most recently she worked with Tokischa and with the one-and-only Gloria Estefan.
Nathy Peluso is a force who’s not afraid to push the envelope whether its her raw sexuality or her feminist take on what she says is an unfriendly world for women. As a woman navigating that space in 2025, she feels that no matter what you do, people will judge you or be disappointed. “It’s always not the right thing to do for the industry or for the crowd,” she says.
And so she created, “MALPORTADA” a 6-track salsa EP to say just that, I can be a badly behaved woman on my terms con amor y respeto. The album includes a collaboration with Grammy winners Rawayana (confirm b/c may just be singer) and is packed with old school salsa vibes as it hits you with heavy horn arrangements, banging percussion and a clave beat you can’t keep still to.
