Alejandra Martinez is an intern with NPR’s Latino USA. She’s a Mexican-American journalist From Houston, Texas. She was born and raised in a primarily hispanic community where she grew up dancing to salsa, enjoying an abundance of tamales, and helping out at her family’s small-business. She describes herself as social media queen, photography fanatic, and a strong-bold Latina. She has a passion for creating diversity and shining the spotlight on minorities. She hears people’s stories for a living because she believes in the significance of each individual. She’s a soon-to-be graduate from The University of Texas at Austin where she majors in journalism and minors in business.
