Max Martínez Villalobos

Max Martínez Villalobos is a freelance bilingual journalist based in New York. He specializes in entertainment, arts and culture. Originally from Costa Rica, Max has been a student blogger for Broadway World and he has moderated Rolling Stone’s official Twitch channel.

His work has been featured in La Nación, Revista Vacío, El Deadline and Semanario Universidad. Besides his work as a journalist, Max has been part of the audience management team of the Costa Rica International Film Festival and the press and production teams of several theater shows in Costa Rica, like “Jesus Christ Superstar” and “Chicago.” Max has also performed in the “Alice in Wonderland” ballet at the Costa Rica National Theatre.

He has an undergraduate degree in Communications from Universidad de Costa Rica, and he moved to New York to pursue a Master’s from the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY, where he joined the Bilingual Journalism program.
