What would it take for you to give up your home? That’s the central question in Colombian poet and actor Carlos Andrés Gómez’s piece, “For the Immigrants and Refugees,” performed for NowThis.
Gómez hopes that his piece will make people who might feel uncomfortable around others who “look different,” take the time and say, “‘I want to understand this person, and what inspires them, and what makes them smile.’ Because that person’s story may be something beyond anything that you might be able to fathom. Or it may be something that you can really relate to, or maybe both those things.”
